The MICRO IRHD hardness tester measures the hardness of elastomers with thickness from 1 to 5 mm. It is designed to measure according to international standards including DIN ISO 48, ISO 48, ASTM D1415, BS 903: Part A26.

The MICRO IRHD tester is controlled by Windows software. The motorized system automatically raises and lowers two load weights to eliminate operator error while testing. Samples are positioned on the support table. Then the smaller weight is lowered onto the indenter. This position represents 100 MICRO IRHD. The larger weight is then lowered. The penetration of the indenter is digitally measured after 30 seconds and converted into MICRO IRHD UNITS. The MICRO IRHD software monitors and controls the operation of the system. The Windows software displays the hardness value, graph, hysteresis, statistics, test report and more. Data can be output in ASCII format. Data is transmitted from the IRHD Controller, which is connected via the serial port of the computer.

For measurements of O-rings and seals, an optional automatic O-ring centering accessory is available to improve accuracy.
